2FA To maximise the security of your telephony

2FA To maximise the security of your telephony

To maximise the security of your telephony, from 21 June 2023, we will implement the following modifications:

  • We ask you to change your password once; and
  • the use of Two Factor Authentication becomes mandatory for all users

to log into the Fonzer telephone exchange.

Change password once

From 21 June 2023, we will ask all users to set a new password for the telephone exchange. From the next time you wish to log in, you will automatically see a screen where you can set a new password.

After you change your password, you will not be logged out of the mobile app.

If you have not set a new password within three months, we will automatically generate a new password. From then on, your old password is no longer valid and you can request a new password via the 'forgot password'-link on the login page. Even if you generated a new password after three months, you will not be logged out of the mobile app.

Two Factor Authentication

Two Factor Authentication (2FA) serves as an extra layer of security for logging into your telephone system. 2FA is a method of verifying a user's identity, where, in addition to your username and password, you also need an additional temporary code to gain access. After you log in with your username and password, you will receive a temporary code on your (mobile) phone or your chosen application. You can choose several options, see later in this document. You then enter the code in the appropriate screen that opens automatically to continue logging in. You cannot log in without this second code.

There are several ways to receive a verification code for 2FA:

  • Qaller app
  • Phone call
  • Mobile call
  • Authenticator (Google/Microsoft/...)

Once you have set several options, you can choose the priority by clicking the Set as Primary link:

Qaller app

If you use the Qaller app, we will automatically set up the Qaller app for your 2FA. You do need a backup method. You will be prompted after logging to set it up. This could be a phone number or the Authenticator app.

  • If you already have set up a mobile phone number in your personal settings before, your mobile phone number will automatically be used as a backup method.
  • After you set the Qaller app as the verification type for 2FA, you will receive each time you log into the PBX a verification code via the Qaller app's push notification.

Phone number

You can also choose to enter a phone number (mobile and/or fixed) as the verification type while setting up 2FA when prompted. When you log into your telephone system, you will receive an automatic call with your verification code for 2FA.

Authenticator

The Authenticator app will also be added as a new option to our Two FactorAuthentication options. If you have an Authenticator set up for your 2FA, you will receive an authentication code via this app on your mobile phone.
