Announcement component (former: Sound) - Dynamic recording

With the updated component Announcement (former name: Sound) it is now possible to
record your custom announcement dynamically from any of your devices (fixed, Qaller
or Web Calls).


The feature will become automatically available for all the companies in the company
Dial plan. To configure the feature:

● add the Announcement component to the Dial plan,
● select a Sound of your choice from the sound files, it is not important in itself which file you put here,
● enable the option ‘Allow recording this announcement dynamically’,
● set the custom part of the short code,
● save the changes.



With enabling the option "Allow recording this announcement dynamically", setting the
short code for this Announcement component is obligatory. Samewise, disabling the option will
make operating the short code impossible.


The short code must be unique within the Announcement components in the Dial plan.
Dialing the short code  via a device or phone application of your choice takes you to the menu of the Announcement component, where it is possible to:

  1. to listen to the new or current announcement,
  2. record an announcement,
  3. delete an announcement,
  4. confirm the new announcement.

The Announcement component menu language depends on the user’s language.

When a new Dynamic Announcement is created, you will be asked to record it and close it with the hash. You can then listen to it again or change it. Listen to the entire menu to finally select the option that confirms the Announcement.

When you have a dynamically recorded announcement, this will be visible in the corresponding Announcement component in the Dial plan. There you can listen to the announcement, download or delete it.


Disabling "Allow recording this announcement dynamically" option, the recorded
announcement will not be in place for the calls to the Dial plan as well as not
operational via the short code anymore. Yet it will still be possible to
listen/download/delete the announcement in the Announcement component of the Dial plan.

If the announcement is not deleted, with the next enabling of this option, it will be again in place for the calls to the Dial plan and operational via the short code.


Note:

  • The feature of recording an announcement dynamically is not available in the IVR
    app.
  • Copying a Dial plan with an Announcement component with the enabled ‘Allow recording
    this announcement dynamically’ option, in the new Dial plan the option will remain
    enabled, but the recorded announcement will not be kept.
